Advanced Game Development (full-year)
This year, we are once again offering our full-year Advanced Game Development class. This is a special opportunity for new developers. It is not intended for students who have already taken Computer Programming. Students who have already taken Computer Programming should consider "Step #2" in the regular Game Development pathway. In this class you will work as a team to design and build a game ready for commercial release targeting the Steam Dec, and other Windows handhelds. This is most likely the final time the full-year experience will be offered. There are 36 seats available. In 2024/25 we had nearly 80 students apply and the students are creating eight original games to be released in May. If we exceed our limit, we will contact students as part of the selection process.

Game Development
New this year, we are combining our Game Development Fundamentals classes with our Computer Programming classes. The first two steps are part of the CTE Programming & Software Development Career Pathway. The first step will earn you a Concentrator certificate and provide you with a solid foundation in designing and programming your own video games. As part of the second step, you will work as a team to design and build a game ready for commercial release. We target both the Steam and Unity Web platforms. It also puts you close to becoming a CTE Completer with cords to wear at graduation. If you are truly interested in becoming a game developer,you really should consider taking a class in 3D modeling and animation. If you want to complete your Programming & Software Development Career Pathway, you should consider taking AP Computer Science or Computer Programmin, Advanced.

3D Animation
3D Animation is part of the CTE Broadcasting & Digital Media Career Pathway. Pursuing this pathway will start your journey towards a career in Animated Film-making, Computer Graphics for Broadcast, Video Game Art Production, and even story-telling in the new media of Augment Reality and Virtual Reality. Completing all three steps will earn you cords to wear at graduation as a CTE Completer in Broadcasting & Digital Media.
